Have you ever doubted yourself?
As soon as you have identified the problem you are to solve, usually, what's next is fear. Many people at this point develop cold feet. "Yes I know God is leading me to do this, but how am I sure I qualify?" Well, if you are confused or afraid, what to do is never to quit or ignore but to listen, confirm with God that He is the one talking to you.

When you are pushed to the wall, what comes out of you? What bothers you the most? What are you constantly wondering about? Gideon was stressed about the fact that 'if the stories we heard about God is true, then why don't we see God at work today" That was his complaint but that was also the fuel for his call. Gideon was still needed though God actually sent a prophet to the Israelites. Why? Because The prophet was a Generalist and Gideon was the Specialist. Everyone thirsts for love, respect and meaning in life that's why Jesus was promising the Holy Spirit to anyone who believes in Him in John 7:37-39. As a believer, His call is for us to come to him with the void in us and drink. When we do, out of our heart shall flow rivers of living water.
John 7:37-39: On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified.
